The Bible says that God has given every person a measure of faith. That faith is like a seed, and if you tend to it, faith will grow. Sometimes we see people who have great faith and think, "Wow! They are amazing. They are a spiritual giant!" But really, we all start out with the same measure of faith. We all have the potential to grow that faith to a great level. And it really isn't that difficult. It just takes a little time and diligence.
Think about an athlete who is training for a ...

As I developed a program for training Christian leaders in specific ways they can avoid sexual misconduct, I went to the Scriptures and asked, “How does God prevent us from sinning?” What I learned was that one important source of prevention is that God calls us to consider the consequences of sin.
Galatians 6:7-8 (NIV) tells us:
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, f...

Hearing God, is easier than you think
In Psalm 46, God tells us,
"Be still and know that I am God",
"Cease striving, let go, relax, and know that I am God."
To hear God you first need to learn to be still. When you're still it's much easier to draw near to God and begin to hear Him speak in your heart.
His promptings are gentle and if you're not still, you'll miss them.
• Remove distractions
• Find a place where you can be alone and undist...

5 Ways to Avoid Sinful Thoughts
The Bible tells us that it is important to guard our minds from sinful thoughts. From wrong thinking comes wrong actions. Proverbs 4:23 says, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” This verse says that to guard your heart it will take diligence. That means it is something that doesn’t happen without effort. 2 Corinthians 10:5 says that we need to bring wrong thoughts into captivity....

The phrase “resist the devil” is found in James 4:7 where the apostle James exhorts believers to resist the devil in order to cause him to flee or “run away” from us. To resist means to withstand, strive against, or oppose in some manner. Resistance can be a defensive maneuver on our part, such as resisting or withstanding the temptation to sin. Or it can be an action we take to use the only of...

Problems which the young are facing today are very different from the problems that were pressing down the young of the past. Obviously – different times, different conditions, different youth. Nearly the fact that we have a chance to discuss about the problem, whether on internet debate, in school, in different media, or simply in the evening by the beer with other young people, which indicates that we – the young – have a key roll in solving the youth's problems, is t...

I TIMOTHY 4:12
Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
The word Despise simply mean to regard with contempt or scorn, during your youthful years you definitely must face some set backs in conducting with those around you, many of our present day elders (grownups), may acorn you when it comes to giving advice and or corrections, as a Youth Pastor, I sometimes also fac...

JAMES 1:6-8
(6) But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. (7) For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; (8) he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
We do not need to have the fears we sometimes associate with James 1:6-8. We can take comfort in the knowledge that mind-wandering and normal doubts and fears, while they are undesirable and should be rooted out,...
